Max Domi has never let type 1 diabetes hinder his dreams of building a successful NHL playing career. Thanks to former NHL player and Hall of Fame inductee Bobby Clarke, who played with the same disease during his NHL career, Max realized that with proper management, diabetes couldn’t hold him back. He now wears Clarke’s #16 on his sweater to mark his gratitude for the life lesson and motivation he received.

Max has consistently given back to several diabetes causes during his young career and this November, for National Diabetes Awareness Month, he’s teamed up with Contour Next to raise funds for JDRF Canada. Over the course of November, Contour Next will donate $1000 to JDRF Canada every time Max scores a goal or gets an assist. What’s more is that Max will be personally donating an additional $500 for each Arizona Coyotes win this month. #GoYotes
