I’ve been a type 1 diabetic for 12 years now, I was diagnosed when I was 4. as someone who has a Dexcom and diabetic alert dog in training (started experiencing hypoglycemia unawareness) and not to mention that I’m a huge hockey fan, you’re a huge inspiration and role model to me. so thank you for proving that even with t1d, you can do anything you put your mind to and thank you for all that you do for the t1d community!! my family and I can’t wait to read the book!!!

This is great! You are an amazing young man and a very inspiring influence for others! I can truly see your passion to help others and that is very heartwarming?? I would just like to share with you that we are very excited for your book to come out. My son Teane (15) and I found it to be a coincidence that the book release date is on his two year diaversary of being a type 1 diabetic. We plan to buy a copy for us and also for a couple of other friends of his who are also young T1D hockey players?? I commend you on your fight and all that you do for JDRF !! I have had T1D for 39 yrs now and played in the WSHL way before all the inventions that make it easier to control BGL’s and it was tough playing at that level ! I’d love to have you walk with my family next September, we’ve done it for 12 hrs now. My son also has T1D

This is a great example of a premier NHL Athlete who has overcome his T1D diagnosis to become a marquis player but still has the time and interest in giving back to help others with T1D! Amazing story and I will be in line to get the book! Thanks Max and JDRF!
