Montreal Canadiens striker Max Domi had the best season of his career in 2018-2019 with 72 points, including 28 goals, but that was not enough to bring his team to the playoffs.
The 24-year-old is still very disappointed and watched the sixth game of the Stanley Cup final with some bitterness.
“It’s a delicate subject,” he admitted in an interview with TVA Sports on Monday. I certainly watched the game, I’m a hockey fan, but it’s difficult. I’m bitter, but it’s probably a good thing. I do not think it would be nice to be excited to watch a game in the final, I’d rather be part of it.
“It was hard to accept for us at the end of the campaign and we will have to use that disappointment next season to bounce back.”

In recent weeks, rumors have linked the names of defenseman Erik Karlsson and striker Matt Duchene in Montreal.
Although Domi believes in his teammates, he admits that help of this kind would certainly not hurt the team.
“I’m not the general manager, but it’s certain that adding a player who is part of the elite makes your training better,” he said.
“That said, we have a special group and I believe in this one. But when you can add a guy of this caliber, you can not say no. I’m sure Marc Bergevin and Claude Julien are doing their job. It’s not my responsibility, but I would certainly be happy to welcome a player like that to Montreal. ”
Good words for Weber and Drouin
Domi also had very good words for teammates Shea Weber and Jonathan Drouin.
When asked about leadership within the group, he mentioned several players, but he had stars in his eyes when talking about the captain.
“Weber is in my opinion the best captain in the National Hockey League right now,” he said. We are really lucky to have it. ”
And he also spoke well of his good friend Drouin and his developed sense of humor.
“Jonathan is absolutely hilarious,” he admitted. It makes me laugh every day, both on and off the ice. He helped me a lot when I arrived here and he facilitated my integration. He is an incredible player, but also a very good person. ”
