New Habs forward becomes just the ninth player to wear the number for Montreal

MONTREAL – When Max Domi slips on a Canadiens jersey for the first time, the logo on the front won’t be the only change to his uniform attire.
That’s because the number Domi wore in Arizona, 16, is not available in Montreal, having been retired for both Henri Richard (in 1975) and Elmer Lach (in 2009).
On the Habs, Domi will be sporting No. 13, becoming just the ninth player in team history to do so.
Domi won’t be the only player to change things up in the numerical department, as Karl Alzner will be returning to the No. 27 he wore for the bulk of his career with the Washington Capitals. He wore No. 22 in his first season in Montreal last year.
