Monday was a big night for Arizona Coyotes rookie phenom Max Domi. As the son of beloved Maple Leafs player Tie Domi, Max would finally skate on the same ice as his dad as a member of the NHL.
His Coyotes teammates decided to make the night a little more memorable by executing a long-standing NHL prank and sending Domi out onto the ice all by himself for warm-ups.
The Coyotes left him out there for a long 30 seconds while they lingered in the tunnels.
Domi, who’s leading all NHL rookies with 10 points so far this season, scored the first goal of the game and his dad, who was in attendance, couldn’t quite hide his enthusiasm.
The older Domi tries to play it cool but a smile ultimately breaks out over his face after a round of high-fives. What a great moment for father and son.
