Selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round (12th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Domi helped the London Knights capture back-to-back OHL championships in 2012 and 2013 before serving as team captain during the 2014-15 season.
Domi made his NHL debut with the Coyotes on October 9, 2015, finishing third in rookie scoring with 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists) over 81 games that season. He later played for the Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets before being acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes in a three-team trade from the Blue Jackets on March 21, 2022.
Domi signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on July 13, 2022. He was traded to the Dallas Stars along with goalie prospect Dylan Wells on March 2, 2023, in exchange for goalie Anton Khudobin and a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. On July 3, 2023, he signed another one-year, $3 million contract, this time with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Instead of becoming an unrestricted free agent, he secured a four-year, $15 million contract ($3.75 million average annual value) with Toronto on June 30, 2024.

From an early age Max was in the rink. In the beginning he was known to many for being the son of legendary Leafs enforcer, Tie Domi. Over the last few years his carved out his own identity with his fantastic speed, uncanny ability with the puck, gritty shot blocking and highlight play goals. His path has taken his talents to the international stage and now his skill is on full display in the Arizona desert.
Max has earned a reputation for being a leader on and off the ice. He’s well-know for his passion and dedication, this has been especially clear in his work he does for the diabetic community. Being a Type-1 diabetic himself, Max has excelled in being a role model and advocate for diabetic youth.
