Per Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos (h/t Craig Morgan of 98.7 Arizona Sports), Domi is expected to undergo hand surgery that could leave him on the shelf for up to six weeks.
Domi, 21, left the Coyotes’ game against the Calgary Flames on Thursday following a fight with Garnet Hathaway. He is the team’s second-leading scorer this season with 16 points and is tied for the team lead with 11 assists.
In his second NHL season, the former first-round pick has made an instant impact with Arizona. He had 18 goals and 34 assists as a rookie and has made a name for himself with his sterling backhand.
